Professional Back-of-Book Indexes in English and French
Hello, I’m Evelyn Ebbs. I’m a freelance back-of-book indexer with nearly ten years of experience in both trade and academic works. My areas of expertise are cookbooks and nutrition, feminist studies, biographies and history.
I have worked with Penguin, Second Story Press, and McClelland & Stewart, among others. I have also provided indexing services in French, and have experience with Word embedding. I am extremely attentive to detail, and have garnered praise and recurring professional relationships with my clients.
I was mentored by acclaimed indexer and editor Heather Ebbs, former president of the Indexing Society of Canada. I studied Classics and French at Queen’s University, and am passionate about film and literature.
No matter the content, my goal is always to create intuitive, thoughtful and accurate indexes with readers in mind.
